6 Critical Fundamentals That Help You Learn to Play Golf Better

There are 6 Golf Swing Basics that you must understand in order to Learn to Play Golf Better:1. Relax
2. Watch the Ball
3. Balance and Footwork (Setup)
4. Proper Grip
5. Proper Stroke
6. StrategyThese are listed in order of priority. So, for example, you will not be able to apply a consistent strategy without making sure you are first relaxed and then also watching the ball. In fact, strategy is developed as a part of watching the ball. If you don’t watch the FLIGHT of the ball on each shot, then how are you going to notice how much the wind is effecting the ball?Most golf teaching professionals teach only three of these Golf Swing Basics – Setup, Proper Grip and Proper Stroke. That is only HALF of what must be worked upon and mastered in order to improve your golf game! Very few teach anything about HOW TO relax, watch the ball or develop and maintain a strategy.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Did you know that the KEY to relaxing physically is to first learn HOW to relax your grip on the club? But in order to truly relax you must also know HOW to relax mentally. Relaxing mentally is a function of focus. Have you ever heard anyone say that someone is “playing out of their mind”? Well, that is because their mind is relaxed and focused on each task that comes up.Did you also realize that you must learn HOW to watch the ball? Watching the ball is more than just seeing it at impact. In order to truly watch the ball a player must continue to watch the ball until it comes to rest again. There is a lot to be learned during a round of golf whenever this is done.Did you know that the KEY to consistent accuracy is balance and footwork (setup)? How are you going to apply a consistent course strategy if your accuracy stinks? A proper setup position for each and every shot will improve your game immensely. You may already know this, but each shot may require a little different setup position in order to get the best results each time. The setup position for a chip is A LOT different than the setup position for a drive.Is the Proper Grip for you the same as for everyone else? What is the most popular grip on the PGA Tour? No two people have hands that are identical in shape and strength. What is most important, though, is to find the grip that works best for you. You definitely will NOT use the same grip for every shot you make during a round of golf. What about your putting grip or the grip you use for chipping?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Is the Proper Stroke for you the same as for everyone else? No, of course not. Everyone must find their OWN individual stroke that works for them. There are certain styles or techniques of swinging the club that are more popular than others, though. The key is in finding a stroke that is simple, repeatable and one that you are able to remain relaxed in accomplishing it.What about Strategy? Can strategy change? Yes it can, depending upon your own capabilities or strengths. Strategy in golf is VERY important. You must know how and when to apply strategy when playing golf.When all of these Golf Swing Basics are taken into account and practiced, there is no doubt that you will Learn to Play Golf Better every time you play.

Top Summer Holiday Destinations in New South Wales

If there’s nothing you detest more than the prospect of having to clean sand out of every corner of your body, car and home, living with the fear of being stung by a jellyfish or other exotic piece of marine life, and battling the glare along with a hundred other people, you might feel a little left out when it comes to summer holiday options! The beach really isn’t the only summer activity to enjoy in Australia – there is something for every taste. There are also activities for every temperature preference… if you want to sleep the hot day away and explore through the cool night, New South Wales has something for you. Today we are exploring what you can do in this diverse region of Australia for summer holidays… no beaches included!Blue MountainsEven if you aren’t a summer person, there’s no reason to sit at home covered in wet towels for the hotter three months of the year! The Blue Mountains is the coolest place in mainland Australia, and offers a huge variety of tourist activities. There is bushwalking in the shade of trees many hundreds of years old to be done, abseiling in Wollemi, horse riding with one of many charter tours. You’ll find the proximity to Sydney means that the accommodation around here books out faster than Port Macquarie hotels or those in the Northern Rivers district – plan early.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Port MacquariePort Macquarie is one of the true hidden treasures of Australia. A year-round mild climate, safe and relaxing atmosphere and huge range of activities mean that many people take the half-day drive up from Sydney to enjoy a weekend at Port Macquarie hotels. The area has plenty to offer beach-lovers and sand-loathers alike! Head out refreshed from your Port Macquarie accommodation for activities like:* Picking your own strawberries and blueberries at either Ricardoe’s Tomatoes or Hannam Vale* Go for a horse ride in the shady Bellrowan Valley – trail rides, pub rides and overnight packages are available. Overnight packages are great value – you’ll be able to get your Port Macquarie hotel to hold your booking until you return.* Get up close and personal with the wildlife at the Billabong Wildlife Park. There’s a koala breeding centre here, and opportunities to get to know our less cuddly (but just as beautiful!) national icons like crocodiles, lizards and snakes.* If you like the water but not the sand, jet boating is a thrilling and invigorating experience. The boat holds around a dozen people and is known as the fastest, strongest and most exciting vessel of its kind.

WarrumbungleThis little area of Australia is not often touted as one of our top tourist destinations. It doesn’t have the breadth of experiences that booking at a Port Macquarie hotel will expose you to, but it is beautiful in its own right. A mix of volcanic spires and rainforest ensures that this area is always lush – even in the heat of summer. You can:* Check out the volcanic legacy in the Warrumbungle National Park* Sleep the heat of the day away and wake up at night to carpets of stars across the sky in Coonabarabran – the astronomy capital of Australia. Siding Spring Observatory is great to check out for earthbound astronauts.* Check out the mineral and fossil displays in Coonabarabran.

Hit Longer Golf Drives – The Key to Golf Distance is in Your Mind

It can be hard figuring out how to hit longer golf drives. One of the main keys to golf distance involves staying confident while playing. Most people get extremely frustrated when they hit a bad shot. There are a number of ways to help boost your confidence in the course. Here are just a few things that I use every time I step up to a shot to help keep my head in the right place.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Take a Deep BreathOne thing I like to do is take a deep breath right before I hit the ball. To some this might not make much sense. Others might think this is do anything. The goal of this is to relax your mind and body. If you’re not relaxed during your golf swing, you leave a lot of options open to fail. Many times when people are mad and step up to the ball, they try to take out all of their frustration in that swing. This is not good. We do this, it causes you to make mistakes in your swing because your mind is thinking about crushing the ball, instead of focusing on a smooth swing.Don’t Take a Practice SwingAnother thing I like to do is avoid taking a practice in before my shot. I know how to swing my club. If you notice sometimes, you’re practicing is generally always better than your actual shot. When you take your practice swing, it’s always smooth and you don’t take a chunk out of the ground. The reason this happens is because you’re not thinking of hitting the ball, you’re focusing on the swing. Let the swing do its job, don’t force it to.

How To Play Golf Better

Short Game is Key
What is the most frustrating aspect of golf..the short game. It is so easy to over hit or chunk an easy chip. The combat this, it is necessary to practice your chipping and putting as much as possible! Focus on smooth swings and controlling the distance of the ball. This one tip alone could save you a few strokes overall.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Know Your Distances
How often do you over or under hit a shot? If you’re like me, its routine. You can combat this by just hitting the driving range and focusing on the distance markers. Know how far you hit each club and try to notice how the ball reacts when it hits the ground. This will allow you to better judge each shot when you’re on the golf course.
Straight Minded
What do most golfers struggle with on the golf course? A slice or hook! The easiest way to straighten this out is to just swing slower! Granted you may lose distance on your long clubs but it will pay off based on your fairway lie rather than digging through the woods for your ball. Just concentrate on keeping your club face square at impact and you will notice a huge difference in your game.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Practice Makes Perfect You have heard it all your life but guess what..they weren’t lying! Golf is a game of muscle memory and it takes practice for your muscles to remember how you hit those amazing shots! So get out there and practice!

Enjoying Beach Summer Holidays

If you have children then you may know that they like nothing more than spending their summer holidays down at the beach, building sand castles and splashing about in the sea. Such holidays can be great fun, but there are a number of issues that you’ll need to consider. In this article we take a look at holiday costs, child safety and keeping adults entertained too.Let’s begin with the issue of cost, since this is likely to be very important. Here in the UK, most children do not have to attend school for around six weeks at the height of summer. As a result, this is a time of year when many parents decide to book holidays abroad with their kids. There is, however, one major problem with this scenario. Since many families are looking to travel at the same time of year, this is high demand for flights and accommodation. That means that prices will be higher too.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
It can be difficult to avoid the issue of cost, but you can concentrate on getting a better holiday deal by being flexible when you come to make a booking. It certainly helps if you’re willing to make use of the internet as many online travel companies are able to offer significant discounts.Some people like to book with a specialist tour operator. This can certainly take much of the stress out of the entire process of booking a holiday and some leading tour operators will offer additional extras, including entertainment for your children on the holiday. Do remember, however, that the safety of your kids may be a concern. Always check out what sort of entertainment is on offer and find out what levels of supervision will be like.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
There is a danger that adults can become bored if they don’t like a beach holiday. In this case, you may want to choose a holiday destination that will allow you to do a bit of everything. You could, for example, spend some days at the beach but also find time to do things that you want. Also you’ll want to keep the children happy, a holiday should certainly be relaxing for you too.

A Quick Guide For Your Next Summer Holiday Destination – Discover the Amazing Santorini

After spending a few years just working with no vacation at all, or with just a couple of weekends near your so-called “base” you have decided to take it to the next level and visit another country for your summer holidays.The first question that comes on your mind is where? The combination of high quality services and reasonable prices is always the case when it comes to summer vacation.Another thing that is very important is the destination itself, if it is easily accessible to everyone and if it can provide all the comforts and safety that all tourist destinations should have. Also, many tourists are interested in the sightseeing of the place and what it has to offer in terms of historical information.So the question is “where”. Well, Greece is one of these destinations. This country combines many aspects of a high quality summer destination. Firstly, there is a high level of security for the tourists and people are very friendly and hospitable. Secondly, there are many interest places that someone can visit in order to learn the history as well as the local culture of the Greek people. Finally and most importantly, the weather is just perfect. All these factors make Greece one of the “easy” solutions especially for European travelers, but not only. Many tourists from the US, Asia and Australia visit Greece during the summer.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Cyclades is one of the most famous regions of Greece consisting of many islands ready to welcome many visitors every year.Santorini is considered by many as the number one island destination amongst the Cycladic islands. The geographical position of Santorini plays an important role in Its’ popularity compared to other summer destinations. It is very famous for the breathtaking view of the “caldera” and the volcano dominating in the middle of the complex.The white color is dominant as well as the blue in almost every building of the island. The unique architecture style with the round tops and the multilevel surfaces around buildings create an unusual and spectacular view.The history of the island is very rich and the prehistoric settlement in Akrotiri village will satisfy even the most demanding of tourists. Anyway, the volcano is by itself the main tourist attraction.The island is not famous for the golden sand beaches due to the fact that the geomorphology of the ground is closely related to the volcanic activity that took place during the past centuries. Nevertheless, there are many of them even with different color (black, red, white), all very well-organized, that provide the visitors with quite a few options during their stay. Furthermore, traveling around Santorini is easy as there are many car rentals that can provide a car for hire unless you don’t drive and choose to use the local buses and taxis.Accommodation is something you don’t need to worry about in this island. Large number of options for different budgets and needs. You want room with a volcano view, private balcony? You have it. Or a big hotel complex with big swimming pool, gym and tennis court? You have it. Or you just want a nice economical clean room? Again you have it.Many hotels and rooms to choose from, even a public camping is available. There is no need to mention anything about the food except maybe three words: ”moussaka” and ”Greek salad”.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Last but not least is the nightlife. There is an extremely large number of bars, clubs and cafeterias as well as restaurants and fast food stores for any taste and budget in every village of the island open until very late at night. Some of them operate 24 hours a day.So, what more can anyone ask? In Santorini you have great – in fact one of the best in the world- view, nice beaches to enjoy the sun and the sea of the Aegean, large number of historical data for the volcano and the culture of the island, and rich nightlife for all types of tourists.In closing, many people argue that one of the places that someone has to visit before they leave this world is Santorini. My advise to you all out there is to visit Thira (another name) and I am sure you won’t regret it.Personally, I think that I am very lucky to have witnessed this view and lived such an amazing experience, end of discussion.
